Have you ever wondered what applicants see when you invite them to interview, offer them a job, or reject their application? Look no further! Below are some examples of emails HigherMe sends to applicants.
Application status emails
When a candidate submits an application, we send this Application confirmation email. The candidate can check the status of any application they have submitted from their Applications page. As the employer, you typically also receive an email notification when you have a new application to review. (You can adjust this in your settings.) If an applicant begins but doesn't finish an application, we'll also send them an Application reminder to complete it and submit! |
Sometimes you get an application that doesn't answer all of your questions. When you request more info, it kicks the application back to the candidate so they can add more detail. Here's what the candidate sees in their More info requested email: |
When you reject an application, you have the choice of whether or not to send the candidate an email letting them know. If you choose to send an Application rejected email, you can have it sent immediately, after 24 hours, or after 48 hours. The candidate can also view their application status from their Applications page (effective immediately – no delay). Candidates are encouraged to step back up to the plate and continue applying for jobs near them.

Interview scheduling emails
When you invite a candidate to interview, they receive this Interview invitation email with information on interview format and a link for them to schedule a time. If they don't schedule right away, they'll receive a reminder via email and SMS every 24 hours – up to 5 times. Reminders will stop if they click "I'm not interested" or if you rescind their invitation. |
When you invite a candidate to interview, they are able to schedule an interview with you based on your existing availability options. Once they have scheduled their interview, they receive this Interview scheduled email with information on the interview time, date, format/location, and hiring manager. They also have the option to reschedule or cancel their interview. |
24 hours before their scheduled interview, the applicant is asked to confirm that they'll show up with this Interview confirmation email. Responding to the email is optional for the applicant, but courtesy confirmations help you keep track of your schedule. If the applicant does confirm their interview, you will receive a notification that they've done so. You can also check who has confirmed (or not) by looking for a thumbs-up icon next to their name on your Interviews page. |
If you or the applicant cancel a scheduled interview, the candidate will receive this Interview canceled email. You will also be notified of any cancelations as well as any requests to reschedule. |
Onboarding emails | |
When you invite a new hire to onboard, it generates an Onboarding invitation email to the candidate asking them to accept their offer and start their onboarding. They'll see quick facts about the job right in the email and can click on "Start onboarding" to complete their portion of the onboarding flow. |
If your new hire made a mistake in one of their onboarding documents or if you updated the document and need their signature on the new version, you can re-issue an onboarding document to them. This is the Document changes needed notification they will receive. |
