Interview absences are certainly frustrating, especially if you have cleared time out of your day to meet a new candidate. Here are some of our tips for reducing how often you see interview no-shows!
- Interview reminders help make sure that applicants who aren't going to show up cancel their interview instead of ghosting. HigherMe automatically sends candidates multiple email and text reminders, but don't be afraid to give the applicant a quick phone call the day before the interview for a personal touch!
- Application pre-screening helps ensure that the candidates who make it to the interview stage really are your top candidates. Adjust your candidate score settings for each role to match your hiring needs. You can even add a knockout question if you have a hiring dealbreaker!
- Consider a group interview. Group interviews save you time while also letting you see how applicants work in teams or interact with others. If one applicant doesn't show up, you can still hold the interview with your other applicants!
- Track what's working. After a scheduled interview, you can mark which applicants no-showed and which actually showed up with the thumbs up/down icons on your Interviews page. Your selections will be recorded in each candidate's application notes for future reference by your hiring team.
