Just getting started with our paperless onboarding tools? Amazing! We made this guide to help you get started for the easiest experience possible.
Before you onboard you first candidate, have you set up all the documents you need? HigherMe provides some standard documents to all new hires, such as federal and state/province tax forms and the I-9 form (for US clients). Review the full list or learn how to add your own custom document here!
There are two ways to kick off the onboarding process for a new hire – it depends where they applied. Scroll down for a guide to both ways:
📑 My new hire applied via HigherMe |

If your new hire submitted their application via HigherMe, they are already in our system. You'll need to invite them to onboard from your Applications dashboard, which will move their record over to your Onboarding dashboard. Learn how below: | |
Start on your Applications dashboard:
|
Now, on your Onboarding dashboard:
|
A new page will open with three tabs:
Make sure to review everything one last time on the Confirmation page. If everything looks good, click Submit to send the invitation! |
🫥 My new hire didn't apply on HigherMe |
|
Do you have a walk-in applicant that's ready to hire on the spot? Or maybe you're rehiring someone after some time away? No need for them to complete an application from scratch! You can manually invite them to onboard from within HigherMe. On your Onboarding dashboard, click the Add new hire button. A new page will open with three tabs:
Make sure to review everything one last time on the Confirmation page. If everything looks good, click Submit to send the invitation! |
|
|
|
Heads up! Before manually onboarding a candidate, double-check that you don't already have an application from them on HigherMe. You can filter your Applications page by name, email address, and more to quickly identify whether your company has ever received their application. If so, please invite them to onboard via the Applications page. |
👉 What's next? |
Whichever route you take, once you submit the onboarding invitation, your new hire will receive an email inviting them to view your job offer and begin their onboarding flow. You'll also see their name move from the Pending tab to the In progress tab on your Onboarding dashboard. Once the new hire has completed their portion of the onboarding flow, you will receive an email that their onboarding is ready for review. Their name will move to the Review tab of your dashboard.
