The ability to post your positions directly on the Tim Hortons career site is here! ๐
As independent employers, Restaurant Owners are responsible for managing their employees in all respects and ensuring that their Restaurants are operated in accordance with applicable laws and their license agreements. The information in this guide is provided to Tim Hortons Restaurant Owners as a resource only, to assist them in hiring for their restaurants and meeting their obligations as employers. The use of the HigherMe platform and the guidelines provided in this guide are not mandatory, and Restaurant Owners should take into consideration the needs of their individual Restaurants before deciding to use the platform or adopting any of the guidelines provided here.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Finding the right employees is a critical step in the successful operation of your Restaurant and one of the first steps in getting the right applicants. The new recruitment site will allow you to post customized job postings that reflect your individual needs to provide more information to the candidate for their selection.
Having live job postings to share the open positions and available shifts will help candidates get the opportunities that best match what they are looking for, saving time and effort for both you and the job seeker!
It is important to note that with this launch, all Restaurants will be required to post positions to be active on the Tim Hortons Career site. If you do not have a live posting, your Restaurant will not receive applications.

2.4. The Notes tab shows any notes you or another manager left on the profile. This is helpful when collaborating with your entire hiring team so everyone can see feedback/updates
2.5 When you are ready to invite the applicant to interview, you can find their PHONE NUMBER or EMAIL to reach out to them. You can find their contact information under their NAME in their application OR from your APPLICATIONS page
BEST PRACTICES
- Set a routine to review and update job postings
- Your job posting will expire every 30 days (or earlier if you turn them off). Set up a monthly routine to review your job posting to determine what you want to post. Tying this to an existing routine like P&L submission can help you remember!
- Read your job posting to ensure you would be excited to work there!
- Your job posting should excite the candidate after they read the post. Review your posting and use the job posting guide and employee value proposition tools to ensure you clearly communicate all the great items!
- Be specific!
- Providing more information such as positions, shifts, and benefits on the posting will help the candidate be better informed and apply to the best position for them!
- Let candidates know if multiple shift options are available.
- If you are hiring a team member for multiple shifts, you can share this in the posting. For example, "Various shifts available including 6am-2pm, 2pm -10pm, 7pm-11pm"
- Have a posting to form a candidate pool
- If you are not hiring you can have a general post to create a pool, but ensure you indicate that in your post to manage candidate expectations. Example: "We do not currently have an opening but please do apply so we have your application when we are hiring".
