Did you know that posting duplicate jobs on Indeed can negatively impact your jobs' visibility? It might seem like the more times you post, the more views you get, but it's actually quite the opposite. 👀 If Indeed receives multiple copies of the same job from different ATS feeds, it recognizes them as duplicates – that means your job essentially competes against itself for views. This can make your jobs less visible to prospective candidates and hurts your application flow overall. Worst case scenario: duplicate job postings are sometimes auto-flagged as fraudulent.
There are two main steps you can take to ensure you're not posting duplicate jobs.
- If you're used to posting jobs on Indeed directly, turn those job postings off. HigherMe integrates with Indeed, so your HigherMe jobs are automatically cross-posted there. If you post to Indeed on your own and post to Indeed via HigherMe, this will create duplicate listings and harm your Indeed visibility.
- If you used a different ATS prior to coming to HigherMe, make sure that it is no longer sending a job feed to Indeed. This process may look different depending on the platform. You may be able to unpublish your jobs altogether, or you may just want to turn off Indeed publishing specifically. Consult your former ATS's help center or feel free to reach out to our team for additional guidance!
The above steps may look different if you're just getting started with HigherMe or if you've been here a while. Below you'll find guides & scripts you can use to reach out to Indeed if you need more assistance.
🆕 Required set-up for new clients: |
Before starting your hiring process with HigherMe, remove any Indeed job postings that you have posted on your own and delete your old Indeed account. You can call Indeed at 1-800-462-5842 to get connected with a representative to help with this process. Let them know you are moving to a new ATS (HigherMe) and make sure that they only accept jobs from our feed. Once that is complete, you can set your jobs to "active" on HigherMe and they'll be published on Indeed. We send a feed of active jobs to Indeed every day. Once you activate a job on HigherMe, it can take up to 24 hours for it to appear on Indeed – the same goes for edits to existing jobs. Indeed also has specific criteria for what they do and don't like to see in job posts. These may come as a surprise! Check out our tips for writing a great (and compliant) job ad. |
⚠️ Troubleshooting for existing clients: |
Even if you've been with us for a while, you may need to contact Indeed to verify your employer account and set HigherMe as the "preferred primary source" of your job postings. This might apply to you if:
