Troubleshooting Indeed visibility

For new clients:

Indeed has policies against job postings that might be fraudulent or duplicates. This can limit the visibility of your job ads, so it's important to play by their rules.

  1. Before starting your hiring process with HigherMe, remove any Indeed job postings that you have posted on your own and delete your Indeed account. You can call Indeed at 1-800-462-5842 to get connected with a representative to help with this process. Let them know you are moving to a new ATS called HigherMe and make sure that they only accept jobs from our feed. Once that is complete, you can set your jobs to "active" on HigherMe and they'll be published on Indeed.
  2. Be patient! 🕝 It can take up to 24 hours for your HigherMe jobs to appear on Indeed. We send a feed of active jobs to Indeed every day. If you only just set your jobs to "active" on HigherMe, give them a day before you expect them to appear on Indeed – the same goes for edits to existing jobs!
  3. Indeed has specific criteria for what they do and don't like to see in job posts. These can come as a surprise! Check out our list of dos and don'ts for writing job ads.

For existing clients:

Even if you've been with us for a while, you may need to contact Indeed to verify your employer account and set HigherMe as the "preferred primary source" of your job postings.

This might apply to you if:

  • You have previously posted jobs to Indeed from outside HigherMe (for example, through another ATS or directly from your own Indeed account)

  • Your job has been active for more than 24 hours but you have not yet received any applicants from Indeed.

  • Your job has been active for more than 24 hours but you can't find your job on Indeed.

Why am I being asked this?

  • Indeed has been experiencing a high volume of fraudulent job postings and they may need to verify that you are a legitimate business in need of hiring. They do this by speaking with you directly – they will not speak to us about your jobs without you on the line.
  • Indeed only allows employers to post from one source. If Indeed perceives that the same company is posting job ads from multiple sources, they may block those job postings. By letting Indeed know that we are your preferred primary source, you can ensure that the jobs you post through HigherMe receive reliable visibility.

How do I contact Indeed?
  • Indeed Representative: If you have an Indeed representative that you currently work with, please notify them. Here is a sample script you can use:

Hi!

I am [insert name here] from [insert company here]. I have been previously posting jobs via [insert method here]. I am using HigherMe (an ATS) and my company has been added to their Indeed feed. I would like to set HigherMe as my preferred primary source for job postings.

Thank you,

[your name]

  • General Support: Call Indeed’s general support line at 1-800-462-5842. Here is a sample script you can use:
Hi! I am [insert name here] from [insert company here]. I have been previously posting jobs via [insert method here]. I am using HigherMe (an ATS) and my company has been added to their Indeed feed. It has been past the advised number of days that it should take for my jobs to appear on Indeed after first being added. I would like to request that a ticket be submitted to Indeed’s Trust and Safety to review the visibility of my jobs. Thank you!
